Airline Ryanair has announced another new direct route from Bratislava Airport for the summer 2027 season.
From 1 June, the carrier will begin operating direct flights to Girona. The route will run twice a week, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Girona is a city in Catalonia, located approximately 100 km north-east of Barcelona. Its historic centre is known for its medieval architecture, narrow cobbled streets, ancient city walls and colourful houses along the Onyar River. Its main attractions include the Gothic cathedral, the El Call Jewish Quarter and the surviving sections of the ancient city fortifications. Girona is also known as a filming location for several scenes in the TV series Game of Thrones.

Girona will be the second new destination from Bratislava announced by Ryanair for the summer 2027 season. The airline previously announced the launch of flights to Chania on the Greek island of Crete. These services will begin on 28 March, the first day of the summer flight schedule.
The new route will provide more travel options to Catalonia. Ryanair already operates flights from Bratislava to Barcelona’s main airport, El Prat. Wizz Air also serves the route with direct flights. The Catalan capital is among the most popular scheduled destinations from the Slovak capital.
