Organisers of Pohoda, Slovakia’s largest music festival, have announced the first two headliners set to perform at the event in summer 2027.
British band Massive Attack will perform on the evening of the festival’s opening day. As usual, the event will take place at Trenčín Airport. The band was due to be one of the main acts at the 2025 festival, but its performance had to be cancelled because of health issues within the group’s team.
Massive Attack formed in Bristol, England, in 1988 and are considered one of the pioneers of trip-hop. Their best-known works include the albums Blue Lines and Mezzanine, as well as the tracks Unfinished Sympathy, Teardrop and Angel. The band’s concerts are known for their large-scale visual projections, and the musicians frequently address social and political issues during their performances. In particular, they have openly opposed Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.
The second headliner will be British electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers, who will return to Pohoda nine years after their previous appearance. The duo will close the programme on the Zlatý Bažant stage on Saturday, 10 July, with their concert starting at midnight. Organisers promise a 90-minute show featuring an elaborate sound and visual production.
The duo consists of Manchester-born musicians Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons. Their live performances have long been known for their striking lighting effects and video projections. Their biggest hits include Hey Boy Hey Girl, Galvanize, Star Guitar, Believe, Setting Sun, Go and Let Forever Be.
The 31st Pohoda festival will take place from 8 to 10 July 2027. Three-day tickets currently cost €149. This summer, the festival celebrated its 30th anniversary and enjoyed the most successful edition in its history, attracting 33,000 visitors.
In January 2026, Pohoda was named one of Europe’s best festivals for the second time in three years.
The festival has been running since 1997. Within just a few years, it became Slovakia’s largest music festival. Over the years, its headliners have included such renowned artists and bands as Liam Gallagher, The Prodigy, Pixies, The Chemical Brothers, Garbage, Moloko, Kraftwerk, The Smashing Pumpkins, Morcheeba, Manu Chao, Björk, Fatboy Slim and many others.
