Slovakia’s public media organization STVR has launched its own audio platform, Audio STVR, which will feature hundreds of children’s fairy tales and radio plays, as well as almost the entire current and archived content of Slovak Radio.
At launch, the new platform brings together nearly 345 series of programmes and podcasts, comprising more than 100,000 episodes and over one million minutes of audio content. The service’s management said the platform will include at least 300 audio fairy tales in Slovak. The service is completely free and contains no advertising.

Regional content will have a dedicated section, while the archive section will offer historical recordings from the 20th century, including material related to the history of Slovak Radio itself.
Fairy tales and radio plays have a long tradition in Slovakia. For decades, radio was one of the main ways for children to discover literature and stories — long before YouTube and streaming services emerged.
Now, a significant part of this cultural heritage is being brought into a format familiar to modern listeners: it can be found online and played whenever it is convenient.
