The 30th anniversary edition of Pohoda Festival has gone down in history for several reasons. Organizers described it as the best edition of the festival since its creation.
Over four days at Trenčín Airport, tens of thousands of people gathered to celebrate music, art, freedom, respect, and community values that have remained at the heart of the festival for three decades.
Pohoda 2026 was completely sold out well before the event began. The anniversary edition attracted a record 33,000 paying visitors — the highest attendance in the festival’s history.
One of the biggest highlights of Pohoda 2026 was the performance by British band The Cure. Their concert lasted around two and a half hours and became one of the first major moments of the anniversary edition. Organizers and critics noted that it would have been difficult to imagine a more impressive opening for the festival’s 30th edition.
Another major event was the performance by Gorillaz and The Prodigy. Their concerts attracted even more spectators than The Cure’s show.
Pohoda traditionally became not only a music event but also a platform for public discussions. The festival was visited by Czech President Petr Pavel, becoming the first time a sitting Czech president attended Pohoda. He toured the festival grounds and later took part in a discussion with former Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová.
The success of the anniversary festival has also boosted interest in next year’s event. During Pohoda 2026, organizers announced record ticket sales for the upcoming edition. Within the first four days after sales opened, more than 8,000 people purchased tickets for Pohoda 2027, and the number later exceeded 10,000.
The 31st Pohoda Festival will take place from 8 to 10 July 2027 at Trenčín Airport.
Festival director Michal Kaščák thanked visitors for their support and said that it is the audience that creates the festival’s unique atmosphere.
“We received the most beautiful gift — the support and the unique atmosphere created by the best audience in the world. Our visitors are the ones who give the festival its meaning. We enjoyed being together so much that, despite the upcoming week of dismantling the festival site, we are already eagerly looking forward to the next meeting,” Kaščák said.
